As general counsel and head of business affairs for FLO TV, Lee A. Wilson is responsible for managing the company’s legal and business affairs, purchasing, rights and clearances and contracts administration functions, leveraging his 15 years of overall legal experience and 10 years of experience as an executive at cutting-edge wireless communications and new media companies providing consumer products and services.
Prior to joining FLO TV in 2005, Wilson served as senior vice president of business affairs and general counsel of iBlast, a digital television network and service operator that launched multi-platform consumer entertainment offerings including movies-on-demand, anime, video games and foreign language programming. At iBlast, Wilson played an instrumental role in its affiliations with hundreds of local television broadcast stations, product development, numerous financings and the restructuring of the company in connection with its acquisition by a publicly-traded media company. Prior to iBlast, Wilson was the senior vice president of corporate affairs and corporate counsel of Digital Entertainment Network (DEN), which was a pioneering producer and distributor of online entertainment. At DEN, Wilson was responsible for private equity and strategic financings, IPO filings with the SEC, as well as for technology outsourcing, advertising and talent-related matters.
Wilson also was a corporate attorney with leading international law firms including Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom, where he specialized in corporate finance and M&A transactions involving companies involved in the entertainment/media and telecommunications industries, including representing Fox in its acquisition of the LA Dodgers, Turner Broadcasting System in its acquisition by Time Warner, New World Communications Group in its acquisition by News Corp., the financing by Walt Disney of its acquisition of Capital Cities/ABC and numerous high-yield financings by United International Holdings, an international pay TV operator.
Wilson holds a JD from UCLA School of Law, and a BA from University of California, Berkeley.
